This is never more true than is working with llamas. Explanations are fine, but the actually act of "doing it yourself" is a teacher of untold value.
Hid-N Hills Llamas offers a full day of training and hands on education. The charge for this is $100.00. That charge includes lunch, education, training, consultation at any time in the future. Further, if the person taking advantage of this training would ultimately decide they want to purchase one of our llamas, then this $100.00 fee becomes a payment on the purchase price of the llama(s). A win-win arrangement for the person receiving the training.
A part of the material covered will be:
- Basic llama knowledge
- History of the llama industry in the USA
- Daily care and feeding
- Maintenance - nails, shearing, vaccinations, etc.
- Grooming
- Show training
- Medical issues
- Desensitizing and imprinting
- Breeding and birthing
The person(s) receiving the training will be doing the actual work. They will be supervised and shown what to do, however, the instructor does not do the actual work.
The fee charged of $100 is for a single person or a family. We try to keep the participants at any one time to a minimum so there is a definite one on one atmosphere. If the participant decides not to purchase llamas from Hid-N Hills or elsewhere, then they have found out llamas are not for them. If they do decide to purchase llamas, then they are ready to go ahead with knowledge as to what is expected of them as a llama owner.
"I want any one buying a llama to do so with knowledge of what is expected of them as an owner. I want them to be happy with their purchase(s) and to know that they made the correct decision."
